Agents of dpsFramework offer a friendly development environment where to study, develop, deploy and debug more easily complex Knowledge-based agents and their behaviors at runtime.

These agents can be connected to applications developed by Expert Systems Tools such a: CLIPS^® , Jess^® or SWI-Prolog^™. The agents are deployed and interconnected thanks to the JADE^® Multiagent Platform, through different hosts architectures and operating systems. The dpsFramework agents offer a sure environment and a stable mechanism where to move other agents between hosts with their Knowledge (old and acquired) and, their Data over time even if they are off.

■ These Agents have a comprehensive lightweight Graphic-User-Interface. They present a solution to undertake confidently agent oriented development projects or, to face safely the agent oriented programming (AOP) researches, when it is necessary treat with Knowledge-based agents. The target has been to offer to student, researcher or professor a friendly complete and extensible agent development environment in only three steps from command-line. That environment can be formed by a single local directory connected to JADE Platform on localhost (127.0.0.1) with some autonomous agents manage their knowledge connecting to an Expert Systems tool or, by hundreds of running agents across several Laptop located on remote network in a Laboratory.
■ All Agents classes, their components and behaviour are included in dpsAgents-1.7.jar Java Library file. That file has been compiled with the lastest version of JDK-1.7_191 (Build 24.191-b08, mixed mode, sharing on 32bits JMV Architecture), in order to search compatibility between all operating systems and platforms with CLIPS Expert System Tool Java Native Interface (CLIPSJNI). That is, with: Raspbian on Raspberry-Pi/ARM, Linux on AMD/Intel-32/64bits, OS-X on Apple and Microsoft-Windows on AMD/Intel-32/64bits. With this property, it is possible to connect Agents to CLIPS-based applications on almost all computer hardware and operating systems. When Agents are connected to Jess^®-Engines, that compatibility is always assured since Jess^® is natively developed in Java.
■ Although dpsFramework directory structure, Agents group and Behaviour class collection have been tested intensively it's necessary remember that: 'this library dpsAgents-1.7.jar is distributed in the hope that it will be useful, but WITHOUT ANY WARRANTY; without even the implied warranty of MERCHANTABILITY or FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE'. Please, see the GNU Lesser General Public License for more details. The dpsFrameworkBuilder-1.7.jar file is only the development environment builder. In other words, it is only an installer program used to create dpsframework-directories of our distributed application on each server. Those are the directories where agents can jump to other servers, collaborate with other agents and, store their knowledge.
■ The dpsFramework software is licensed under the GNU Lesser General Public License v3 (LGPL-3.0). The dpsFramework Source-Code is available on GitHub at: https://github.com/dpsframework/. There are three dpsFramework flavour: Base, Medium and Full. All its versions contain the same dpsAgents-1.7.jar agent library, however dpsFramework-1.7.jar Base, Medium and Full are different regarding to included bundle of Third-Party Libraries. It is important to note that dpsFramework-1.7.jar Full-version can only be used for Academic purposes because Jess® limits that kind of uses. Also note that, SWI-Prolog / JPL.pl is only partially integrated on dpsAgents-1.7.jar Library.
